YGE Saphir 155 V2

Product description and features

The YGE Saphir 155 V2 has a powerful and heavy-duty BEC (12 amps continuous and 25 amps short term) and can be operated with servos from 5.5 to 12.0 volts. This speed controller can therefore be used in models with analogue, digital and high-voltage servos. The speed controller can be programmed and updated using an optional USB adapter. The sinusoidal start-up of the YGE Saphir 155 V2 means that the motor starts SUPER-SOFT. The PWM frequency is automatically adapted to each brushless motor during operation.

Please note that with a Jeti REX receiver, the telemetry values are only output at E1 and E2.

If the controller is to be connected to the EXT socket of the JETI DUPLEX receiver or via an expander, the YGE TexY is required.

Quick and easy configuration thanks to 6 pre-programmed operating modes

Operating mode programming was created to pre-programme the controller to suit the application. All the necessary parameters for the operating mode are preset using the transmitter stick, and the end points of the throttle channel are also read in automatically.

The following modes are available:
Mode 1: External governor
Mode 2: Governor
Mode 3: Governor Store
Mode 4: Powered flight with brake (glider)
Mode 5: Powered flight without brake
Mode 6: Powered flight with acro brake
It takes just a few minutes to programme the operating modes and fully commission the controller. The USB adapter for connection to the PC is required for advanced programming and selection of the telemetry protocol.

Bailout:
Autorotation is not just a 3D figure that is a hit during show flights. It is also important to master autorotation in emergency situations, which is why it is all the more important to practise it from time to time. The bailout function plays an important role here, because if an autorotation does not go as planned, you can switch the motor back on and the controller will quickly bring the throttle back to the target speed without reacting with a soft start.

Jeti ExBus:
With the Jeti transmitter, you have the option of setting the most important controller parameters directly in the transmitter via the Jeti Box. This allows you to conveniently adjust individual controller settings directly on the flying field. The controller settings can be found in the JetiBox menu under ‘Mx’.

The following telemetry values are output by the controller

Battery voltage, current, capacity, speed, FET temperature, BEC temperature, BEC voltage, throttle preselection, controller opening. Our Saphir and Aureus series also display the electrolytic capacitor temperature and the BEC current.

Telemetry protocols from the following manufacturers are supported

• Jeti ExBUS
• Jeti EX Telemetry (not EX Bus) YGE TexY required
• Spirit
• Graupner HoTT V4
• Multiplex Sensor BUS V2
• Mikado
• JR PROPO
• Futaba (YGE TexY required)
• FrSky (YGE TexY required)
• Spektrum (YGE TexY required)
• Core (YGE TexY required)

Functions

• The specified current is the maximum continuous full-gas current with good cooling.
• 4 to 8s LiPo, reverse regulation or switch-off in the event of undervoltage.
• BEC – undervoltage detection, can be switched off.
• Current limitation.
• Speed control (governor mode).
• Soft start.
• Active freewheeling, therefore unrestricted partial load capability.
• Timing can be set automatically or in 6 stages.
• EMK brake adjustable.
• F3A / Acro brake (brake force continuously adjustable in flight).
• Min and max values are saved and can be displayed in the optional PC tool after the flight (e.g. current).
• Speed limitation: 240,000 rpm (2-Poler)
• Overtemperature / overload warning
• Intelligent temperature management
• Basic programming via mode setup.
• Fine adjustment and selection of telemetry protocol via PC setup, suitable USB adapter optionally available.

Extended setting options via PC software

The YGE Connect software offers the option of making advanced settings on the controller (separate USB adapter required). Among other things, the desired telemetry protocol can be selected here, the start-up can be adjusted as required or the BEC voltage can be changed. The recorded data from the last flight and any error entries are also displayed. The controller setup can be saved or various setups can be loaded. Of course, the controller can also be updated online so that it is always up to date.

The YGE Connect software can be downloaded here.
